Citizenship Drives

Funds our grantee, Employee Rights Center, with resources to host Citizenship Drive Workshops that give eligible local immigrant entrepreneurs free legal assessments and paperwork filing assistance to become naturalized citizens

Repeal of the People’s Ordinance

Supports the passing of San Diego Ballot Measure B, repealing the century-old law requiring the City to pay for the trash collection of single-family homeowners, freeing up $50M a year to be spent on other priorities
Homes for All of Us

Supports initiative to make it easier to build new homes in the city that all San Diegans can afford, as a response to the housing affordability crisis
Founding Partner of San Diego Food Justice Project

Founds San Diego Food Justice Project with 4 other partners and provides $35k in business start-up training, mentorship, and technical assistance to local Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKOS)
Climate Action Plan

Works with Mayor Todd Gloria’s advising team to develop and support San Diego’s landmark 2022 Climate Action Plan to take bold steps toward a more sustainable place to live, work, and play
Revitalizing Restaurants

Works with Biden Administration to establish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund and High Road Restaurants nationwide, distributing $3M+ in grants to independent restaurants across the U.S., including 6 in San Diego
Local Business Recovery from COVID Closures

Works with local San Diego businesses to consult, apply for, and receive PPP loans, EIDL loans, and ERTC to keep their doors open and employees paid
Members Represent BFG Across San Diego

Establishes a multi-sector effort to advance our community’s integration of immigrants and refugees, leading to the City launching the Welcoming San Diego initiative and the Welcoming San Diego Strategic Plan
Commercial Composting

Supports local policy that allows small-scale community composting, forging the path for the City of San Diego’s now mandated organic waste recycling program
